Theodore, AL rests in the southernmost portion of the state on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico. With a young and growing population of 7,000 residents in the county of Mobile, Theodore is a thriving industrial town. Previously known as Clements, Theodore gets its modern name from local sawmill operator and postmaster William Theodore Hieronymous.

Theodore is well-regarded for its importance in the transportation of goods, with its large Theodore Industrial Park leading the way for shipping in Alabama. Built on top of old abandoned military property in the early half of the 1960s, the park is now a major depot for shipping of goods and transportation along the Theodore waterfront. The docks are situated on three hundred acres of land at the mouth of a canal, with direct access to the Gulf.

Aside from the docks and related industrial and trucking services, employment in Theodore largely centers around the chemical industry. Chemical engineering in Theodore is lead by Degussa, a multinational chemistry corporation based in Germany, whose local firm was first established in the town in the 1970s. The company gradually drew similar chemical manufacturing businesses to the area, and the chemicals industry now dominates Theodore, with multiple firms and having set up shop in the city.

Theodore real estate is seeing growth due to increased cashflow into the city as a result of its importance in Alabama for industry and transportation. Located close to larger neighboring cities, many residents consider Theodore real estate to be highly valuable. New construction of residential areas is ongoing, and business zones are springing up to fulfill the needs of a surging population.
